Keep Your 3D Printing Filaments as Dry As Possible
All of Them
All of Them
All filaments shipped from taulman3D are stored in a climate controlled facility, include desiccants and are vacuum sealed to mitigate moisture. Once the vacuum seal is broken upon use, the filament's exposure to normal humidity in the room can lead to material degradation over time. This is why we recommend to all 3d printing users: you should have the capability to dry your filaments when necessary, to increase their performance.
The easiest and most straightforward way to dry your filament is to use a Print Dry system. The system is compact and developed specifically to dry out 3d printing filaments.

DIY Option: 5 Gallon Bucket
This design has been used in our labs and will drop the internal humidity to 10% in 6 hours and completely dry 2 each spools overnight. The internal temperature with a 40 watt bulb will climb to about 110F.
This design is very specific as to where each part resides. Heat at the bottom and spools above. Holes are added such that the bucket will not contain water. Air is drawn in at the bottom then heated and allowed to pass over the spools thus reducing water in the spools. Adding a handful of desiccant pouched at the bottom will accelerate the process by 2X. Also, if ambient RH exceeds 60% this unit becomes less and less effective on it's own without any desiccant pouches.
Please follow all guidelines in the diagram.
